We absolutely love a hot toddy on a cold winter's night....and it's really easy to make. Here's our recipe (although admittedly we don't measure 😉.) We find the robust flavour of Gees Bees Buckwheat Honey is especially great in this recipe, although you can also substitute with Gees Bees Wildflower Honey.
Dark bold Buckwheat Honey is best for hot toddies. It's rich flavour really adds to this drink - plus, buckwheat honey has lots of benefits, including helping with sore throats and being high in antioxidants. So bundle up and enjoy this winter classic, whether to help a cold or just to warm up after an outdoor romp in the snow. Roaring fire optional, but highly recommended.
Ingredients for a Hot Toddy
1 tablespoon Gees Bees Buckwheat Honey
1.5 oz Spiced Rum - such as Captain Morgan's or Sailor Jerry's
Hot water
Optional: Squeeze of lemon, Cinnamon stick
Grab your favourite mug or double walled heat-proof glass. Measure 1.5 oz of spiced rum and pour in hot water. Stir in the tablespoon of Buckwheat honey and squeeze in some lemon juice. Garnish your hot toddy with a slice of lemon or a cinnamon stick.
Leave out the rum for a delicious Honey Lemon Tea.
Enjoy!
