High School Field Trip to Gees Bees Grades 9â12 | 2 Hours | Wednesdays | May to August | Ottawa Enhance your students' understanding of biology, environmental science, and sustainability with a hands-on experience at Gees Bees. This 2-hour educational field trip aligns with the Ontario secondary school curriculum, offering students in Grades 9 to 12 an opportunity to explore the fascinating world of bees and their crucial role in our ecosystem. What to Expect: đ Interactive Beehive Observation â Students will observe a live beehive from our screened observation area, witnessing bees' behaviors and hive dynamics firsthand. đŻ Educational Sessions â Our knowledgeable staff will provide insights into bee biology, the process of pollination, honey production, and the environmental significance of bees. đŒ Hands-On Activities â Engage students with activities that illustrate the importance of bees in agriculture and biodiversity. Curriculum Connections: This field trip supports various strands of the Ontario secondary school curriculum, including: Science (Biology, Grade 9-12) â Understanding ecosystems, species interactions, and the role of pollinators in biodiversity. Environmental Science (SVN3M, SVN3E, SVN4E) â Exploring human impact on ecosystems and conservation efforts. Gees Bees Honey Company reserves the right to cancel See the Bees due to inclement weather, instructor illness, or insufficient enrolment.
